About

The symbolic nature of life has been of interest to me for decades. It inspires my still lives, plein aire landscapes and figurative work. I paint primarily in the mediums of watercolor and oil. My current focus is a continuation of the conscious use Nature's proportions to create a greater sense of space within the picture frame.

I was introduced to sacred geometry through the academic study of painting under Auseklis Ozols, director of the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts. Prior to my study there, I received a BFA from the University of Southwestern Louisiana after which I worked for Hallmark Cards and continued my studies at the Kansas City Art Institute. I later spent two years studying the Venetian masters in Venice Italy. From New Orleans to New York and full circle back to my birthplace, Connecticut, I choose to paint from life, ‘plein aire’, because it is a direct source. By consciously honoring and utilizing Nature we access our direct connection to the divine, the essence of what we are. I intend my work to enliven the environment it inhabits and those who view it.
